Green Ears of Wheat and Sunflower
When a new season arrives, I want to embroider some new design for that season.
I have to think about the design and prepare it before that season arrives, otherwise I won’t be ready in time…
This summer I came up with a new design of “green barley” and “sunflower”.
At first, it is the “green ears of wheat”.
I had a chance to connect with a lady who crafts beautiful himmeli from rye straws harvested from her own fields. I was deeply inspired by her lovely photos of her wheat fields. The hinmeli with delicate wheat ear is just charming!
The sunflower is a design I have wanted to embroider for a long time and have finally completed.
It reminds me of the excitement of my childhood when I couldn’t wait for summer holidays.
This time, both of them have been made into handkerchiefs.
